Crystals, you and Energy

Crystal

Crystals are formed through a mixture of minerals that form under the Earth’s crust with a combination of gases, hot molten rock and water. It can take thousands of years for crystals to form. They are a perfect indicator of telling the story of the Earth and how it has evolved over the centuries. Looking at the atomic structure of crystals, we can see that the atoms and ions are arranged in an orderly manner, making crystals the most perfect form of matter in the universe.

Crystals have been used by humans and can be dated back to the Ice Age. It is believed that Quartz was used to create heat. More recently, Quartz has been used to produce power in watches and other electronic equipment.

Different civilisations across the globe and throughout history have used crystals as part of their daily lives. The Egyptians used Lapis Lazuli stones in their jewellery and crushed and made these precious stones into a paste for their make-up. The Mayan civilization made blades out of Black Obsidian. Black Obsidian is volcanic glass formed from lava which has rapidly cooled down. These are believed to have been used in crafting and for ceremonial processes amongst other things.

The Law of Resonance is similar to the Law of Attraction. It works on the belief that you will attract into your life and energy field, that which resonates with the vibrational frequency you are projecting. With crystals being an orderly matter, if you combine there is energetic frequency an area with an area of your life or within your own energetic field that is in disarray, the perfect form of the crystal will vibrate to bring order and alignment to the given area.

Think of crystals similar to having a prescription. Sometimes the prescription needed is only for a few weeks, at other times it is ongoing and over a period of years. Crystals work the same way. Your core crystal may be something that you always have with you for protection or upliftment. On the other hand, you may need a crystal for a few weeks to help you with motivation or for a other specific purpose. Our needs and different areas of our lives are constantly changing and evolving. In this sense the crystals that you may have been drawn to 6 months ago may differ to what you are resonating with. It all depends on the current energy that you are projecting in your life.

Chakra Balance and Crystal Healing

At The Sage Son, our focus with regards to working with crystals is through connection to the Chakras. The 7 main Chakras govern different parts of the body. They are the connection in which our spiritual energy interacts with our physical body and emotional wellbeing. Our chakras are invisible energy centres and at The Sage Son, we often imagine that each chakra looks like mini spinning vortex of energy, (imagine what a tornado looks like!) but laying horizontal through each energy centre of the body.

The energy centres contain what is our highest and densest point of energy. It is from these centres that we exchange energy within the world around us, physically, emotionally and spiritually. They are the portals in which we give and receive energy.

Day to day, it is possible and likely that our Chakras will go in and out of balance, dependent on what interactions we have during the day and how we feel with regards to our mood. It is important and necessary for us to practice moments of self-care throughout the day. More challenging imbalance or issues can occur if we find that we are in a repeated cycle that may not be beneficial for our wellbeing. It may be as simple as not getting sufficient sleep each night to something more complex such as a trauma from childhood that needs to be healed and released.

In a Chakra Balance and Crystal Healing session, a crystal pendulum would first be used on each of your chakras, to discover the flow of your Chakra and to also bring it into balance. Once this has been done, crystals would be placed on each Chakra. A had would then be placed on top of the crystals and your Chakra to activate and connect the energy of the crystal. Once this has been completed on all the Chakras, crystal points are placed around the body to release any unwanted energy and to also bring in positive vibrations from the universe.

While the crystal healing is being done, Sonya is constantly reading the energy intuitively so that she can discuss with you what has come up at the end of the session.

A Chakra Balance and Crystal Healing session is very calming and relaxing. If you feel as if there is something more to everyday life or you feel that spirituality is calling to you, this is a beneficial treatment to have to guide you onto your soul path and journey of self-healing and discovery.

What is Stress and How can Kinesiology Help?

Stress Kinesiology

Do you have trouble sleeping, have headaches or an irritable bowel? Are you low in energy and are you frequently catching colds and viruses? You could be stressed.

We have all heard the word “stress” and have probably even described ourselves as stressed at some point in our lives. Personally, I hear it from someone at least every week – from clients describing their symptoms to friends’ posts on social media. We are surrounded by stress – mothers explaining they are stressed out with the children, bosses complaining they are stressed at work, people distressed from a relationship or family life under stress.

The word itself, ‘stress’, carries negative connotations and there are many causes of stress. Everyone has different stress triggers but some typical major causes of stress can be bereavement, family break-ups and divorce, financial problems and illness or injury.

You might have a general idea of what you think stress is but a lot of people don’t realise the impact stress can have on our physical and mental health. Stress manifests differently in a lot of people and symptoms can range from constipation and bowel issues to general aches and pains. But beneath the surface chronic stress can be doing even more damage.

Under stress our body reacts as being under attack and switches to ‘fight or flight’ mode. Fight or flight is actually a response we have brought on by stress hormones, namely, cortisol, adrenaline, and norepinephrine.

Adrenaline causes your heart to beat faster and raises blood pressure. Cortisol can interfere with the function of the inner lining of your blood vessels that can cause plaque build up in your arteries. This increases your risk of heart disease and stroke. Norepinephrine is similar to adrenaline and increases blood pressure and blood glucose.

Chronic stress often results in high blood pressure and heart diseases as well as weight gain too, but this isn’t all. It interferes with your entire immune system so your body struggles to do the job of keeping you protected and healthy.

Chronic stress even causes epigenetic changes. For those you who haven’t heard of epigenetics, it is the ability of the DNA to change itself and how it is expressed, but that is for another blog post. Stress triggers systemic inflammation that is the culprit for various chronic diseases such as colitis.

The link between stress and detrimental events in the gut is well documented. Stress can affect your gut in numerous ways including:

  • Lessened nutrient absorption
  • Decreased oxygenation to your gut
  • Significant drop of blood flow to your digestive system – this in turn leads to a decreased metabolism

Scientists and researchers are finding out more about our bodies all the time and we now know that our gut and brain are in constant communication. More and more studies are being conducted and they are showing a strong link between gut and brain.

You may have noticed in the news that more emphasis and attention is being given to diet to treat depressive and mental health illnesses. This is in response to this new found evidence about the gut and brain link.

In this day and age we know that stress is unavoidable so we need to find ways to prevent it to become chronic.

As a Kinesiologist I look at:

  • Diet – certain types of food and alcohol can increase stress
  • Lifestyle – help clients to find ways to have me time without feeling guilty
  • Restoring the body’s alignment using multiple technique
  • Emotional stress release technique

These are just some of the areas I can look at to treat someone suffering with chronic stress. Most importantly, I start peeling off the layers to get to the root cause.
