How Does Your Home Make You Feel?

“How does your home make you feel?” This may seem like a strange question but your home, your office or place of work, in-fact anywhere you spend time and your environment, affects you both physically and emotionally. There is a name for this; Geophatic stress. Geopathic Stress is the relationship between the earth’s energies and your wellbeing. You may have read about Geopathic Stress before in my blog, from contributor Andre Sutherland.

The more I have learned about how the energies of our manmade environment and even our homes themselves can impact us, the more I have felt drawn to helping people affected by geophatic, techno and physic-stress. I myself have embarked on studying and practicing Geomancy. If you find your home or your place of work is having a negative affect on you, or giving you a bad feeling, or it is not selling, is the family in conflict or people act out of character then it is likely you need to consider Geomancy.

To give you an example of this type of situation, let me tell you about the case of my friend, let’s call her Rita. She has been living in a particular property for 5-years. Rita likes the place but she has been feeling not particularly happy coming home. So, I offered my newly acquired skills in geomancy and went to visit.

She is a practitioner herself and at times she works from home. She is also a writer and instead of using her office she kept working from all the rooms in the house other than her office because she simply did not feel at ease there. My instinct went to trapped emotions perhaps left behind by clients. So, with all my tools – dowsing rods, wands, sage, crystals, singing bowls and more, I started work.

I started dowsing outside in the garden and found two ley lines – these are straight navigable energy paths and have spiritual significance. One was running through the house near the exterior wall in a straight line and the other on the other side of the house but through the conservatory. Furthermore I found near the conservatory there was underground water stagnation. When water flows through underground passages, fractures and fissures, it produces its own electromagnetic field, often high into microwave frequency. Furthermore, water carries emotions, feelings and if anything negative is trapped in the water, it is likely that it affects the house and the family addressed the water and the negative ley lines with earth acupuncture; later, I found out after the cleansing, that on that exact ley line time ago was running a train line.

I moved inside the house and interestingly the living room required a different adjustment. I was told that it needed some meditation by myself and my friend as there were some old stuck detrimental emotions stuck there. The emotions stuck in the living room were not from the clients but by the old tenant. She confirmed the dowsing and that the previous people living there and apparently they were not liked much by neighbours – they were not positive and were judgmental. We both sat down in meditation and asked whatever present to please move on to light and let the current family live in harmony.

Additionally, during the session I could see the aura of a member of my friend’s family who was present, getting lighter until it was clear and flowing. We know that the aura is a pulsating field of energy which surrounds living things and human bodies. The aura has different colours and the more healthy and connected we are, the brighter is the aura and it forms a sort of protection. The fact the family member’s aura became brighter showed that before this session she was under some type of stress. Our work helped the family member feel more at peace and become freer.

I continued my work through the rest of the house and nothing in particular was then reported, left some crystals permanently on the ley lines inside the house, I collected my tools, checked that the corrections were in place, re-adjusted the living room and after a cup of tea, went home.

In the evening I received an email from my friend saying that the energies were very good and she was happy. The member of the family I worked on the aura slept like a log all evening and night. The following week she texted saying that she loved the house and felt more comfortable and productive there and that for the first time in years she used the office and worked there for 7 hours

When thinking about your home, place of work or a family property, it is a good idea to consider the energies of the place.

There are many factors to take into consideration, starting from the personal history of your family, the predecessor in the property, where it is built, history of the site, health conditions of those that have lived there and more. How does your home make you feel? If you have a bad feeling there then you should definitely consider getting in touch to find out how geomancy can help.

My week training in Geomancy and Earth Dowsing …….

July 2018 was the month I attended the most amazing week training in Geomancy and Earth Dowsing in order to understand earth energies and resolve issues in the environment. I appreciated first-hand how good clean harmonious energies can make the difference between doing and feeling poorly and blooming. It can affect your health, relationships and finances.

My husband and I were captivated by the enthusiasm, professional and personal transformation of our good friend and great energy worker Andre Sutherland, who attended the same course in 2017, and we decided it was something to be experience personally.

I had to wait a whole year, counting the months, the weeks and finally days that were separating me from this chapter to begin. Something inside was telling me it was going to be anything never experienced before and the waiting was full of excitement, frustration, joy and high expectations; event though I had no idea what was waiting for  me at the Ashdown Forest, East Sussex.

Adding to that, in my Kinesiology practice between 90 to 95% of my clients seem to be affected by Geopathic stress, EMF and/or Technostress and understanding better the issues and how to help them became almost imperative. To find out more about Geopathic stress and EMF please read  the blogs on my webpage “Geopathic stress – the link between Earth energy and our well-beinghttps://equilibriumvitae.net/contributor-of-the-month/april/ (by Andre Sutherland) and “Electromagnetic-frequencies-the-invisible-danger-to-our-health-and-wellbeing” https://equilibriumvitae.net/2018/01/30/electromagnetic-frequencies-the-invisible-danger-to-our-health-and-wellbeing/.

The whole week was spent sharing daily activities with a group of international students from the UK, Malesia, US and Switzerland and Jewels and Richards, our extremely knowledgeable and fun teachers, amidst the magic of Beech Hill Stone Circle.

We learned the grounding  theory and practice of dowsing the earth’s subtle energies such as ley lines, geopathic stress “black” or “sha” streams; drawing on the principles of Feng Shui, one of the most complete Geomantic systems still practiced and how to enhance the of quality of Qi (energy).

We discussed in more details Geophatic, EMF and Technostress and learned techniques to help reducing and neutralising these types of stresses such as avoidance, shield and curing.

We learned how to find Earth’s acupunctures points and geomantic rituals helping to heal, transform and manifest; how to design sacred spaces, cut wands, read auras, making incense and so much more.

We also visited different sites such as a 2,550 years old Yew tree, lakes and caves and a local village to read the Qi. We cleansed a couple’s property at the start of new chapter in their lives and dowsed another one for potential predecessor energies imprints as well as other type of energies that could have affected their new home.

The weather was merciful and permitted us to spend a lot of time outdoors, showering under the sky, enjoying live folk music by Jez Hellard & The Djukella Orchestra https://jezhellardthedjukellaorchestra.bandcamp.com/  around the campfire while watching the stars. We sat under the majestic trees on the fields cutting wands and re-energising in the stone circles while our nutritional needs were taken care of by Phil and Kay with delicious vegan recipes https://therawbuilder.co.uk/

There was a lot of sharing, laughing and crying around the fires under the ever present watchful eye of Nooo the Pomchi, the loving soul of Laika the German shepherd and Cricket the cat.

My heart fills with joy and gratitude every time I relive these memories in my mind. During these 7 days I was able to finally connect the dots of my life journey so far. It gave me more tools to help my clients with their health and I would highly recommend this intensive course to anyone with an inquisitive mind, anyone who feels an affinity to nature and those seeking different type of answers.

My deep gratitude goes to everyone that made this special week possible: my fellow students, Jewels and Richard, Phil and Kay, Russ, the Deers visiting us at night and all the ever present Spirits of Place.

I will never forget this experience, for it was transformational.

Crystals, you and Energy

Crystal

Crystals are formed through a mixture of minerals that form under the Earth’s crust with a combination of gases, hot molten rock and water. It can take thousands of years for crystals to form. They are a perfect indicator of telling the story of the Earth and how it has evolved over the centuries. Looking at the atomic structure of crystals, we can see that the atoms and ions are arranged in an orderly manner, making crystals the most perfect form of matter in the universe.

Crystals have been used by humans and can be dated back to the Ice Age. It is believed that Quartz was used to create heat. More recently, Quartz has been used to produce power in watches and other electronic equipment.

Different civilisations across the globe and throughout history have used crystals as part of their daily lives. The Egyptians used Lapis Lazuli stones in their jewellery and crushed and made these precious stones into a paste for their make-up. The Mayan civilization made blades out of Black Obsidian. Black Obsidian is volcanic glass formed from lava which has rapidly cooled down. These are believed to have been used in crafting and for ceremonial processes amongst other things.

The Law of Resonance is similar to the Law of Attraction. It works on the belief that you will attract into your life and energy field, that which resonates with the vibrational frequency you are projecting. With crystals being an orderly matter, if you combine there is energetic frequency an area with an area of your life or within your own energetic field that is in disarray, the perfect form of the crystal will vibrate to bring order and alignment to the given area.

Think of crystals similar to having a prescription. Sometimes the prescription needed is only for a few weeks, at other times it is ongoing and over a period of years. Crystals work the same way. Your core crystal may be something that you always have with you for protection or upliftment. On the other hand, you may need a crystal for a few weeks to help you with motivation or for a other specific purpose. Our needs and different areas of our lives are constantly changing and evolving. In this sense the crystals that you may have been drawn to 6 months ago may differ to what you are resonating with. It all depends on the current energy that you are projecting in your life.

Chakra Balance and Crystal Healing

At The Sage Son, our focus with regards to working with crystals is through connection to the Chakras. The 7 main Chakras govern different parts of the body. They are the connection in which our spiritual energy interacts with our physical body and emotional wellbeing. Our chakras are invisible energy centres and at The Sage Son, we often imagine that each chakra looks like mini spinning vortex of energy, (imagine what a tornado looks like!) but laying horizontal through each energy centre of the body.

The energy centres contain what is our highest and densest point of energy. It is from these centres that we exchange energy within the world around us, physically, emotionally and spiritually. They are the portals in which we give and receive energy.

Day to day, it is possible and likely that our Chakras will go in and out of balance, dependent on what interactions we have during the day and how we feel with regards to our mood. It is important and necessary for us to practice moments of self-care throughout the day. More challenging imbalance or issues can occur if we find that we are in a repeated cycle that may not be beneficial for our wellbeing. It may be as simple as not getting sufficient sleep each night to something more complex such as a trauma from childhood that needs to be healed and released.

In a Chakra Balance and Crystal Healing session, a crystal pendulum would first be used on each of your chakras, to discover the flow of your Chakra and to also bring it into balance. Once this has been done, crystals would be placed on each Chakra. A had would then be placed on top of the crystals and your Chakra to activate and connect the energy of the crystal. Once this has been completed on all the Chakras, crystal points are placed around the body to release any unwanted energy and to also bring in positive vibrations from the universe.

While the crystal healing is being done, Sonya is constantly reading the energy intuitively so that she can discuss with you what has come up at the end of the session.

A Chakra Balance and Crystal Healing session is very calming and relaxing. If you feel as if there is something more to everyday life or you feel that spirituality is calling to you, this is a beneficial treatment to have to guide you onto your soul path and journey of self-healing and discovery.

How Do I Know What Therapy is Right for Me?

psychology-healing-kinesiology

Often people seek alternative therapies at significant times in their lives – when they reach milestones or have specific challenges. Perhaps going down other routes hasn’t worked and has left them seeking answers from places they had previously not considered. Fertility, physical illness and emotional pain are all issues that may bring you to consider alternative therapies. Some people come to considering therapy from a different place – they just feel curious or simply have a sense that they need to try alternate therapies. But, with so many therapies on offer, how do you know what therapy to choose? From reflexology to Reiki or even kinesiology – there are so many different therapies and treatments and often they seem to treat the same or similar things and appear to simply come at the problem from different angles.

If you are in the situation of feeling unsure about what therapy to explore, then I hope this blog post will help you. Here are my thoughts on alternative therapies.

Firstly, I want to emphasise the fact that I strongly believe that every therapy is amazing. I myself, my very first treatments was Craniosacral and Kinesiology. During these years I have tried quite a few – reflexology, Havening, crystal healing to name a few and the one that still resonates with me the most is Kinesiology because I find it very tangible and works well with my nature. Furthermore, at the end of last year I had my personal home energetically cleansed with Geomancy and it transformed the whole atmosphere and it helped me focus more as well as make my husband returning to his own natural-self. This brought me also to attend a intensive week training course on Geomancy that I will talk about in my next blog and offer along my Kinesiology and Homeo Botanical Therapy.

I am an advocate of a variety of therapies. Obviously each therapy takes a different route and has a different method. For example, Homeopathy is a holistic medicine, which uses specially prepared, highly diluted substances with the aim of triggering the body’s own healing mechanisms. People that suffer with insomnia or IBS may decide to see a homeopath but they could see a Reiki practitioner as it can also help with these problems. But, of course the method is very different as Reiki is administered by laying on hands and works with energy flowing through the chakras and meridians. Equally the person may want to see a crystal healer who can also provide healing by drawing on the healing powers of crystals. All of these therapies are beneficial and can provide healing. There are multiple types of healings but it is important to find what therapy may suit you best and therefore gain positive outcomes. For me, what is important is the integrity of the practitioner and even her/his personal journey. My own life experiences have brought me to where I am today and this is something I shared in my recent blog post

What someone has experienced can really shape him or her as a person and this brings me on to the next point…

Another important aspect is the relationship with your healer; for a therapy to work well I strongly believe that there must a mutual trust between practitioner and client.

At the start of my journey I thought that one practitioner would be able to address all my issues; along the way I learned that practitioners have different talents, skills and way to connect to you at physical and soul level.

Often practitioners are recommended through word of mouth and this is important but my advice is that you make sure you do your research – find out as much as you can about the practice and the practitioner. Most importantly, feel if it connects to your inner soul but never discount talking to them and having an initial phone call or consultation – if you research and it feels right there is no reason not to try a practise that you never heard from. What I would also advise is that you may want to try different ones until you find what resonates with you mostly.

If this resonates with you and you would like to find out more about the kinesiology I offer, please don’t hesitate to get in touch Barbara@equilibriumvitae.net and have a chat.

Emotion, the Body and Wellbeing

emotional health

I have spoken before about the mind and body link: we are a spirit, which is separated from the body. The spirit communicates with the mind. The mind communicates with the physical brain. The brain communicates with the body. So it is clear that everything is connected and can impact each element of us, particularly our physical, mental and spiritual health.

It is now widely acknowledged that a large percentage of our illnesses are stress-related – stress has been implicated as a major factor for heart conditions, depression and rheumatoid arthritis and more. Of course it is important to know and address what causes the stress in our lives. You can see my blog post all about stress here

Much of the stress in our lives is actually as a result of unresolved emotional issues. Even if we are not aware of these unresolved emotions; they release stress hormones such as cortisol and adrenaline that can have a detrimental affect on our body.

Emotions can and do get trapped in the cells of our body – they can take many years to reveal.

We experience emotions with every activity we undertake. It can be the response to a particular situation such as fear if we are involved in an accident or extreme joy for an achievement. Sometimes, seemingly insignificant incidents may have caused a subconscious response that we might not even aware of.

Did you know that both conscious and subconscious memories could be linked the emotional response to events in our life? At time we are aware of what trigger an emotion for example, a song on the radio that we associate with a particular event. Other times a sudden sense of depression is triggered, for which there is no clear conscious trigger – usually because there is in-fact a subconscious trigger linked to a past event.

Our bodies are not machines that can just keep on going through long periods of stresses without any affect. It is often not until we stop that the body can then be given the space and time to show its imbalance through symptoms, which we need to listen to.

I always say “the body has the answer” and when I treat a client, I look at all aspects of a person – including the emotional aspects. When I am able to identify emotional blockages often the client knows what emotional stressor is affecting him/her, particularly it a present situation that their body is responding to. Other times are past emotions or traumas or at time they may be unsure what it could be. Lately, I found myself helping client clearing emotions that are present from when they were carried in the womb! Or there have been occasions where we have found it is an emotion that it has carried down through generations in the bloodline.

I have even found that the person is carrying emotions that are not actually their own but maybe of a partner, a parent and/or a siblings.

It is very difficult to determine the full impact of unresolved emotions. There is so much to discover. But when they are identified balance can be regained.

For me, it is a privilege to help my clients understand how much a particular emotion has impacted them, whether consciously or subconsciously, and it is highly rewarding for them experiencing the feeling after the emotions have been addressed and taken to conscious mind and dealt with.

If you believe you may have unresolved emotions impacting your wellbeing or if you are suffering with physical symptoms and are unable to gain relief please do get in touch to find out how Kinesiology can help you.

A reflection on my journey through cancer

DSC_1289

10 years ago today, the 6th June 2008 I was diagnosed with breast cancer and my life changed forever.

Of that day, I remember that emotionless radiologist delivering the news and my numbness, the inability of thinking straight and me looking into the void until mum brought me back to reality; we needed to act swiftly. Within 2 weeks I had already undergone surgery, was set on a course of 26 radiotherapy sessions and 5 years of HTR.

The initial shock was quickly put aside and an emergency mode in place. Life had already taught me that crying in these circumstances is not productive and as an antidote I started planning my next stage in life which included returning to London and accepting an offer to open a Law firm office in the City. The enthusiasm of returning home helped me overcome the first few months and allowed me not to think too much about the pain and the fears, which were conveniently pushed deep in a remote part of my mind. Back home, it took quite a few months for reality to hit.

Although, the oncologist warned me about the medication’s side effects, I was not prepared for the full impact and my health started deteriorating rapidly. Not only that, having to come to terms with the fact I was facing a life threating disease, those repressed emotions started to manifest in the form of depression, lack of energies and a constant debilitating back pain. My quality and social life were almost not existent and for the next couple of years all my energies were preserved to go work.

It was then, that a friend introduced me to the person, who became my healer, mentor and trusted friend. By only entering his therapy room I knew something had shifted, for the first time in years I felt at peace and I had found someone who understood what I was trying to say; my journey through quantum healing, kinesiology and craniosacral therapy had started.

Within 6 months my back was realigned and pain-free. Cleansing my system via nutrition and the introduction of food supplements helped to keep the medication’s side effects at bay. Yet, the real turning point was when I started to fully realise the impact that traumas can have on our health; one day I suddenly understood why I developed cancer. The whole impact of early traumas, which had never been addressed, came back with vengeance and my body was not able to cope any longer.

For the past 7 years I have worked hard on my physical and mental health. Nutritional support has been added to my diet, more physical activity, meditation and regular healing sessions have worked wonders; even though the path has not been always easy and pain-free.

My self-esteem has increased, my anger has disappeared, and my energy level is unrecognisable. Still at times, like today, memories, pain, fears are haunting me but I know, it is all part of that journey with no return.

Becoming a Kinesiologist was the result of this journey; it is my profession and my passion because I now know there is another way.

The Importance of Energy Free Flowing in our Meridian

Crop circle

As a Kinesiologist I look at all aspects of a person – physical, emotional, nutritional and spiritual, to identify imbalances in the body. This means I work extensively with meridians and energies.

The meridian system, also known as the acupuncture system, has its basis in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) is based on a set of interventions designed to restore balance to human beings. What is referred to as illness by Western medicine is considered to be a matter of disharmony or imbalance in TCM.

People come to me for a variety of reasons – with chronic pain, issues like IBS or even emotional illness, but people also come to see me without adverse symptoms. This is to keep their body in balance and free of energy blockages in order to prevent a physical manifestation of the blockage.

We have 12 meridians that are named according to their corresponding organs (stomach, spleen, heart, small intestine, bladder, kidneys, triple warmer, lung, large intestine, bladder, liver and gall bladder) and two additional meridians known as governing vessel and central vessel. If you are experiencing some digestive problems it is likely your stomach meridian has an energy blockage!

So what are meridians?

Meridians carry energy throughout the body much in the same way arteries carry blood. Energy is our life force. Energies flow through these meridians accessing all parts of the body and are responsible for all the body’s major organ systems.

If the energy flowing through is imbalanced in any way, the system it fuels is jeopardized and this may result in disease. This is why it is so important to remove any blockages and make sure that the energies flow freely in our body.

We can think of the meridian system as a giant web, linking different parts of our body together.

The meridians main functions:

– to connect the internal organs with the exterior of the body

– connect the person to the environment and the universe

– to harmonize the yin and yang principles within the body’s organs and Five Elements;

– to distribute qi (pronounced chee) within the body

You may have heard of yin, yang and qi, but perhaps you don’t understand that they are.

One of the objectives of Traditional Chinese Medicine is to keep yin and yang in harmonious balance within a person.

Yin: Often symbolized by water or earth, the yin is associated with femininity, darkness, passivity, receptiveness and the night; while Yang: Often symbolized by fire or air, the yang is associated with masculinity, light, activeness and the day. Both forces are equally necessary in nature and in human well-being, and neither force can exist without the other.

Taoist teachers also believed that there is a third force, primordial energy or qi (also spelled chi or ki). The interplay between yin, yang, and qi gave rise to the Five Elements of water, metal, earth, wood, and fire. These entities are all reflected in the structure and functioning of the human body.

The energy flow in our 12 meridians follows a specific time schedule with qi being more prevalent in different meridians at different times of the day. For example, the active time for the Liver Meridian is 1am – 3am so if you are waking up at this time every morning it is your liver telling you that it needs looking at!

This could be on a physical level and you may be need to be detoxing or it could even be on an emotional level showing that you may need to deal with anger in your life – as one of emotions associated with the Liver Meridian emotion is anger.

One important difference between the development of medicine in China and in the West a doctor might be interested in body weight, height and symptoms, the Chinese medicine practitioner looks at a patient holistically. Treatment will work to correct imbalances and disharmonies in the flow of qi.

Our bodies communicate with us and guide us to the root of the problem, but too often we don’t know how to listen or don’t understand what they are saying. My advice is that your body has the answer.
